| Hello Bobby Bao: Thanks for your e-mail. Yes, we had a very nice cruise. We were the only 2 people from Switzerland. We met 2 people from England, but I would say about 170 of the 180 passengers were Americans/Canadians. And apart from the English couple and ourselves, everybody was travelling in organized groups. Well, I like travelling independently, then you are free and can do whatever you like and you don't have to follow a tour guide all the time. The cruise had a very interesting programme with excursions and various on-board activities, so we were always busy. The food was good and the staff and other passengers were friendly, so we had a good time. And I must say, the staff is very talented, because besides their normal work, in the evening they were singing, dancing and playing music to entertain the guests. Just the weather could have been a bit better - I would have prefered to have more sunshine and blue sky, it was often a bit grey and cloudy. Luckily, there were no damages in Chongqing from the earthquake and the dams didn't break... We were always joking that in case of a dam breaking while we were on the cruise we would arrive in Shanghai very quickly... In general, we had a very interesting stay in China (Beijing, Lijiang, Dali, Kunming, etc.) so, who knows, we might travel to China again in the future. I just hope that the visa procedure will be easier again in the future, because now (due to the Olympic Games) much more papers, etc. are needed to get a visa. In any case I will watch the Olympic Games on TV with interest. I'm sure it will be a succesful event.
